BUTTER NUTZ TAKE EARLY LEAD
Boasters League round
1~~
An old familiar team name - Butter Nutz – had reappeared this season, this time under the
captaincy of JC Tibbitts, and just
like old times it seems the only spot it feels comfortable is atop the
standings. I know it’s just week 1, but they did win 6 of 8 matches (so far),
the best win percentage of the week.
What isn’t familiar, is seeing Mongoose in 8th spot. Nor is seeing Mongoose picking up just 9 bonus points where we are normally
expecting at least 13 or 14. Captain Paul
Huth maybe on the warpath already, so for you Mongoose players – be prepared to hide!
It wasn’t a terrible showing last night although I would
have liked a few more matches completed. We have 30 new faces in the league
this year, a handful of which I have not even met yet (which made ranking them
a tricky task) so for many it was getting themselves familiar with the league
atmosphere and surroundings. And the keg. (Strangely enough, that was the one
that everybody got comfortable with the fastest!)
Of course the main reason we all gather together every
Wednesday is for the squash competition so let’s highlight some results… John Perkins (Wardogs) had the upper hand against Brian Ellison (Nicker
Ballers) last night with a tough 2-1 win. I didn’t watch the match itself,
but when I have one player approaching me to announce the score with beer in
hand and a wide smile (smirk?) while the other – also with beer in hand – but a
look of exasperation and the frustrating “Geez,
I need a lesson…” comment, it doesn’t take an astrophysicist to see who
won.
Mike Hanchett (Vivio’s) started his season with a 2-1
win over Mike Rock (On the Rocks) with this time Mike Rock’s father – Jerry - feeling pain of the loss with a promise to
sign up his son for lessons and “teach
him a drop shot!” Of course, no one drops the ball more in a match than
Jerry, and he must be wondering how that skill didn’t get genetically passed
down to his offspring.
I also have to mention Chris
Moyer (On the Rocks) who was honestly
a little worried if not suffering from acute anxiety at being ranked too high in the team but somehow still
managed to win his first match 2-1 against Cathy
Lysack (Vivio’s). He insists it
was pure luck, Cathy was being her usual overly-kindhearted self, and not to
read anything into this anomaly. Well, we’ll see when he tries to beat up
another woman next week in Maggie…
A positive start to the season, great to see the court area
buzzing with excitement once again. Will Mongoose
improve on their bonus point debacle from week 1? Will the catering department
once again play musical beer kegerators? Will Joey Gaylord win every match this half 45-0? Plenty of things to
look forward to!

This is Jed, If I had one question for MOHAMED EL SHORBAGY, it would be "Obviously you have heard of the 2016 Blue Chips, they may have been a bit of a Shooting star (rising to extreme glory quick and then calling it a career) if you will, but do you think they were the greatest doubles duo ever formed?"
Ryan here, if I had a follow up question to Jed's, it would be "I know that you are not a doubles player, but If given a 5 point lead in each game, could you and your brother, Marwan have taken 2 games off of The Blue Chips at their peak in 2016?"
Thanks for your time,
JEDCO

I never heard of the Blue Chips. I'm not sure why some random, unknown 2016 doubles team is relevant to the topic of DAC Boasters.
Thank you for your message.
P.S. JEDCO is #1

I also appreciate the fact that they use sustainable materials in their products, which is a big plus in my book. It's always great to see companies taking steps towards reducing their environmental impact.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Shreeji Woodcraft to anyone looking for high-quality squash court flooring in India. Keep up the great work!
